Email money transfers were already pretty popular—they were fast and convenient. So bringing them to mobile seemed like a no-brainer.
I worked with a team to break down how Interac's service actually worked and brainstorm new ways people might use it. After exploring all the possibilities, we figured out how to make it work really well on phones. I designed new workflows and screens that were built for touchscreens, and we added mobile-specific features like sending money via text message. I ran user tests to make sure everything felt natural to use.
We ended up creating Canada's first really popular mobile payments solution.
