Email money transfers were already established as a fast and convenient way to transfer money. So bringing the service to mobile seemed a surefire way to take things higher.
I worked with a team to deconstruct and explore the basic service architecture provided by Interac. I helped to brainstorm powerful new usage scenarios. After an extensive exploration of the problem space we were able to envision how the service might work in the mobile era. I produced new workflows and screens optimized for touch displays. New mobile-centric features such as the ability to send funds via SMS were crafted. I conducted user tests to ensure the product worked harmoniously with how the target audience worked.
These efforts brought to the Canadian market its first popular and powerful mobile payments solution.
