Lovers Lookout

I was asked to create packaging artwork for Seattle-based band Red Jacket Mine's sophomore album, Lovers Lookout.
Recorded live to two-inch tape, the sound of the album was rich and warm. The band wished to carry this warmth through into the artwork.
A key ingredient of the artwork was the evocative feel of the cover photograph, a casual film-based snapshot taken with a cheap plastic camera. This was offset by typographical touches and a colour palette influenced by `70's Elektra album covers. This added up to an aesthetic that was familiar and not entirely of its time.
